Kerr's acting career began in Philadelphia over 20 years ago in 1995. After graduating from the University of Vermont with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, he moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting.
After just 9 months in New York, Kerr landed the lead role of Ryder Hughes on the prominent daytime soap opera, As the World Turns, quickly becoming a part of one of the most well-known daytime families. Kerr was awarded the 'Best Newcomer Award' from Soap Opera Magazine that same year.
He spent another 3 years acting in NYC on several independent films, including Lucid Days in Hell and Hit and Runway in addition to a number of commercial and radio spots. Many people don't know this, but Kerr was one of the 'Carls Jr. Men' as well as one of the voices for Gateway Computers and Trojan Condoms.
Kerr moved to Los Angeles in 1998, where in just seven short weeks, he landed the breakout role of Jack McPhee on the WB's hit series, Dawson's Creek co-starring along with Katie Holmes and Michelle Williams. Since then, Kerr has been known for his roles in such shows as the CW's Life Unexpected opposite Britt Robertson, Fox’s Justice alongside Victor Garber, NBC’s E-Ring with Benjamin Bratt and Spelling's Charmed with Alyssa Milano.
In his personal life, Kerr is passionate about spiritual growth and where our planet is headed as a whole. So much so, that he co-founded a business with his wife, Lisa, called TerraLife Wellness, a holistic health and wellness consulting business. Kerr also has a blog at expandingawareness.net.
Kerr is also a certified pilot and enjoys motorcycle riding, hiking, biking and growing the foods that we eat.
